Proven Guilty by Jim Butcher

Any series has its ups and downs, but this latest entry was a definite rough patch. Scene by scene it was fine, but the overall story arc of the series has swamped the plot of the book; no one can pretend these are stand-alone stories any more.

And really, how many times to do I have to read one of Harry Dresden's friends tell him what a good person he is? Has there ever been a fantasy hero who needed that much reassurance?
