For the last few weeks, I've been trying to walk a lot more than I used to. It's difficult to get exercise, because I'm up at 5 am every day to write, then it's time to take the boy to school or go to the day job. At the end of the day, there's just enough time to eat dinner and put His Majesty to bed. On nights I'm not on kid patrol, I have kitchen patrol (which takes forever, cripes).
So, where do I steal time for a regular workout routine? Not from my writing. Not from my family. My boss at the day job isn't too keen about it, either.
At Salad Eater's suggestion, I've been getting off the bus a little over a mile before my stop. It takes about half an hour to walk down the hill (which is extra reading time) and so far I've dropped about 5 pounds.
It's not the cardiac workout that I really need, but it's a start.
