Amidst all the news reports of Gustav and the police raids in Minneapolis, there's one news story that's slipped through the cracks:

It seems that the USDA has refused to let a small specialty beef producer from testing its product for Mad Cow Disease and labeling it as safe. Why? Because larger producers were afraid they would have to start testing all their beef as well, and the tests are expensive.

Don't let anyone tell you this administration believes in the free market. That's patently untrue.
