Be unscientific!

Agent Jennifer Jackson is conducting an impromptu and unscientific focus group about what sorts of books we’d like to see more of, and what’s wearing thin.

I can’t tell you how happy it makes me to see all those folks saying they’re tired of urban fantasy 8 months before mine comes out.

But hey, if you have an opinion, swing over there and post it. Just be sure to read the rules at the top of the page first.

Don't fret it. If you just actually have a fresh take on it, it will get snapped up. Let's face it, there are more people who are getting turned onto the vampire genre after Twilight I suspect than those who are getting turned off. And if you have something other than the standard Christian wardings a la Bram Stoker, excellent!

I considered a story with a Jewish vampire hunter for the same reason. ;) But that was just a fun movie plot at a party for me. My husband has a vampire and werewolf tale he's had for nearly 20 years now and I have a couple of werewolf stories bouncing in my head. Again, if you actually have your own vision instead of a clone, I wouldn't worry.

I'm not too, too worried about it. The state of the global economy is scarier, but as a new author, I'm required to fret about my first book. It's in my contract. :)

Thanks for your note.

Oh yeah. Like the lawyers who get obvious really venal criminals off because it makes their success rate look good. But those are not the ones I am referring to in meaning well. These guys are mixed…

This reminds me of the time my wife was injured and the insurance guy handling her case did everything possible to deny and stall the payment. We had to put her surgery on a credit card because this…

The creepiest part is that some of them are actually well meaning.

Yeah. It's godawful what people will do when they have authority and no fear about using it.
