Randomness for

1) Now this is a brilliant film trailer: Baby trashes bar. Video.

2) Wildly successful self-published author Amanda Hocking on What It Takes.

3) An appreciation for a show I’ve been watching: The Adventures of Pete and Pete.

4) Samurai fights his own shadow. Video. This is really beautiful and well done.

5) The 50 worst band photos ever. I haven’t looked at all of these yet, but yikes.

6) Facebook ads in a superhero universe. The last one is priceless. I’m tempted to do this for urban fantasy universes.

7) I love this: What happened to the bullies at the end of THE NEVERENDING STORY? Video. Via Matt Staggs at Suvudu.

3) I've watched the ep "A Hard Day's Pete" twice now and it's brought me close to tears both times. Syd Straw ftw.

7) I love the cut that jumps 25 years or whatever. Fantastic.

The contrast of 4 and 5 is a perfect demonstration of the range of the internet.

I loved the samurai/shadow thing. The most difficult thing to create in visual performance arts is a show that is simultaneously breaking new ground and yet completely comprehensible. "New" + "beautiful" is incredibly hard to achieve.

This reminds me of the time my wife was injured and the insurance guy handling her case did everything possible to deny and stall the payment. We had to put her surgery on a credit card because this…
